.OVERDRIVE is now up and running!

Huzzah! etc. etc. Expect it to be updated way more than this! jkjk, It's going to be a nice little hobby to replace my FFXI Blog now that I've thrown in the sweaty, cholestoral-crusted MMO towel. It also gets me back into drawing regularly, which is always a good way to keep me sane, especially with these harsh overtime hours coming up at work.

Yush! Enjoy watching it as much as I enjoy making it ;3! (I really should make a portal hub to connect all these little projects I do ...D;!)

"Second Chance is a simple, interactive, Visual Novel series, allowing you, the player, to determine the outcome of a single, miserable human's life. It also gives you that second chance to witness what would have happened if you chose a rather different path..."

Episode two of the ongoing series titled "The Thief" is now available to play!

I've also included some new stuff in this episode, such as a title screen for the webpage, new decision markers, multiple endings, and different character placement.

Episode 3 is still under wraps, but I'm taking a time out over Christmas to work on other aspects of my portfolio.

Hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed making it!

One more week of code testing, tweaks, and final edits to the second installment of the Second Chance series. This time it's taken me a month or so to do instead of a week! However, there's a bunch of new improvements and a deeper storyline, with even more artwork!

I'm also surprised at the amount of people anticipating it, so thanks for all your support! :D

After 35-40 hours over a week and a half it's finally complete!

"Second Chance is a simple, interactive, Visual Novel series, allowing you, the player, to determine the outcome of a single, miserable human's life. It also gives you that second chance to witness what would have happened if you chose a rather different path..."

Episode one of the ongoing series titled "The Author" is now available to play!

Give it a whirl. It basically does what it says on the tin, with influences from other text based games such as Phoenix Wright and Hotel Dusk, including and a bunch of other RPGs such as Disgaea. I'm such a fanboy...

Episode 2's script is already being written up and will be a little more complex in terms of how the main story's butterfly effect unfolds.

However for SC's initial release (and given the challenging timeframe spent on it), I'm really happy with how this first episode came out.

Enjoy! :D

Most of you have probably been wondering what I've been doing all summer...
...well, here's the answer. :3 )

Rabbits. As always I hate this part of a new job. However...with E100 spamming Dia, and with me kicking ass with Hand to Hand, it was more than bearable...it was fun! Once I hit level 10, I headed back to Nashmau to pick up all the Teir I Attachments. I started levelling before the ENM60 and Teir II ones were introduced...but nevertheless, I was amazed at how much power I could control once I had them all equipped...

The first frame I got was Valoredge. Using Strobe, Flashbulb and Shock Absorber, I didn't even bother with Valkurm or Qufim. Yes, me and E100 duo'd all the way through those areas, all the way to 25 and beyond. I think I got one or two Kazham parties, but even then, I would spend most of my time in Buburimu, either eating Bomb Tosses, or soft white sand. Reraise Scrolls oddly ring a bell. >_>; Or constant whines to my LS to Tele-Mea me, hoho.

At 20 I got Sharpshot. I skilled up it's Ranged skill on bunnies again, and when it was 10 levels before the cap, I used it in exp. Alternating between it Valoredge to keep those two skills capped for now.

At 30, I got my Stormwaker. The original Harlequin model has lower skills than all of the three seperate frames, but my magic skill levelled up incredibly fast when I used it to solo to 35. Beetles in Sauromauge were amazing exp and skillups when soloing. We even made some new friends before picking their wings off and crushing them with spells! ^_^

Being able to solo right outside Jeuno when lfg was always impossible for me. Until the Activate Deploy Deactive trick came along. But in the 3 or 4 times I used it, I preferred exping the usual way. Praying for a Cure II from E100, or spamming WSs and chugging Hi-Pots until I died. Little did I know when I got Raging Fists, I would be using it for 20 levels...

The 45-ish levels were such a fucking BORE on DRK. Sure you got Stun, and NOW they give them Absorb-TP! Well back in my days you had to EARN your TP! With soloing becoming near impossible with Valoredge, I decided to start making my own parties. Infact, From about 35 onwards that's what I did. Partying in either Altepa or Quicksand Caves. That way, I could solo some exp in between replacements coming, or if I was lfg. Once I hit 50, it was time to take it one step further...

BURIED TREASURE, YARR! Actually, me and my rascal would swipe other people's coffers because we were so impatient waiting for our own AF to come. Kuftal and Boyada were my home until 57~ when the exp got a little dry, and invites started to drop like flies. Maybe it was time to move to the new areas in Aht Urghan?

Experience points? FORGET IT! IT'S SUMMERFEST! At 58 I took a small break to work on DRK and Limbus and enjoy the fireworks with my LS. With the new patch already released, I was happily doing the AF quests day by day, messing with the new Merit abilities, ISNMs, and slowly gaining about 1 level a day with 1 new AF piece waiting for me every 2 days. Damn you, JP midnight!

From 55-65 my home was Wajoam. Colibri, Tigers, Crawlers, and Trolls! New areas and a refreshing change from the 15 levels of slavery in Bibiki last year. It was great fun. Especially when E100  would spam Thunder II on  Colibri and wipe out my party. Oh yes, fun times. Achieving 60 was a huge accomplishment. Once again I took a small break, but my fingers were just itching to get back to it, and see what new gear and skills I can achieve by getting stronger.

Reading forums and looking at my lack of invites and overall strength, I realised PUP, or "lolpup", was becoming like DRG or even BST. People didn't realise it's full potential. Instead of looking at my damage and E100's, they would just see my gimpy 100 Damage Howling Fists and laugh. So it was time to try out the ENM60 and get me some new parts. On my first try, I failed miserably. I had no clue what to do, really. Second time, Stupidoccini used Stormwaker and I got dead lucky with rolls. Heck, I won easily and even got Drum Magazine to drop! The next few times he insisted on using Valoredge resulting in multiple Critical Hit failures, but alas, today he just today he whipped out Stormwaker and I won again with no deaths. No drop this time, but I managed to Ninja-snag a Target Marker a friend called Louie put on the AH. It was a double and he was gald it went to someone who could use it. 2/8 and still counting...

Using my job for events such as NM camping for Fortei, coffer key grabbing for LS members, or even just running errands, me and E100 were inseperable. To quote a certain Taru: "The AF is beginning to grow on me...", I was pushed to reach 75 and take it to more events and get some hot new gear!

As mentioned in an earlier entry, when not partying, I was soloing or duoing with Miz, my JP PUP friend. I got back into a GMT timezone and she was always online. It was fantastic, she taught me new tricks and gave me advice on gear such as Shiva's Claws and Velocity Earring. Grabbing those two quickly, we had a lot of fun and even now we still randomly meet up and deck some birds in.

At 70 I came back to where it all began in Bastok, and I seeked out true power. I didn't need to do this LB5, and in the end I just skipped it because nobody would help me farm a test from those annoying Trolls. >_>; Maybe one day soon we'll see how much I've learnt since kicking around those rabbits in Ronafure. Or maybe he'll surprise me and pull out a Goblin and go all ENM60 on my ass. Bastard.

So last week I hit 70, and was well into the final strech. I have 2 weeks of summer left, and 75 was straight ahead. Burning 1 or 1/2 a level a day, me and E100 went to town and saw the sights. Caedavra, Mamook, Halvung, we even paid Cerberus and Jaded Jody a little visit when trying to reach camps in one piece!

With Accuracy, Attack and STR gear out the ass, and Target Marker working overtime, me and E100 were on fire. Every level I would cap all three frames, but Valoredge would be my first and only love. He can pull, he can tank, heck, he can eat more Cursed Spheres and Puk AOEs than I could! He could even land hits on mobs that even my DRK would miss, and our Beastmen Pet duoing act wasn't overlooked by the party and passers-by. Flashbulb helped out the Ninjas a lot, and people would always run around waving or cheering us on.

...Then there was my LS, who were just dicks that took the piss out of the job. >_>; /fist. I'LL SHOW THEM! OUR WORLD DOMINATION HAS JUST BEGUN!

But before long, all that hard work paid off. Earlier today I finally hit 75 and got myself Dragon Kick. All that's left is to cap all of E100's skills one last time, and upgrade him to his fullest potential with merits. In a way, I'm pretty sad it's over. But you can't keep levelling forever, right? Sure you've reached a climax, but it's just numbers. There's lots of more things for us to learn and experience, they journey's just begun!

I'm proud of myself for getting this job to 75 in such a short time, given how much people bash it, but that's just dedication, huh? It was fun, and that's all that matters. We explored together, we faced danger together, we fucked up enemies, and even got fucked up by mannequins. We met new people, we made new friends.

...and we really had a lot of fun, didn't we? Here's to the future, E100. To the future, and beyond! ^^
